UO HWTP Phase 2 Recent Awards
Phase 2 of the Hamilton Walton Transformation Project (HWTP) at the University of Oregon has recently received two awards. The (as yet unnamed) New Residential Hall and Yasui Hall were completed in Phase 2 of this three-phase, three-building residence hall and student life project.
HWTP Ph.2 was awarded 3rd place for large projects by the Association of University Interior Designers (AUID) for the 2024 Design Competition. The award honors university projects with either “in-house” design or, in this case, strong university review and project coordination with outside architects and designers. Judges are professional practicing interior designers. The awards are announced each year at AUID’s annual conference. Many thanks to Sarah Chapman, Housing Interior Design Manager at the University of Oregon, for her work on the project.
HWTP Ph.2 won the 2024 Outstanding Project of the Year for large projects by the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau (NWCB). The award recognizes interior and exterior finishes on new and renovated commercial and residential projects. Judges’ criteria included design, jobsite innovation and/or conditions, quality of workmanship, use of materials and overall effect. Congratulations to Western Partitions for their role in delivering high-quality interiors on-time and on-budget.
