RBA Welcomes Dustin Locke!
With an interest in architecture since childhood, and after a four year stint in the US Navy, Dustin earned a Bachelor of Art in Architecture with a minor in Photography at the University of Oregon in 2013. While at UO, Dustin received a travel scholarship to participate in the Rome study abroad program and traveled to London, where he led research mapping the evolution of London’s building typologies.
Dustin has since worked on a variety of projects – including mixed-use apartments, commercial office buildings, and an elementary school – while working at 2Form, BLRB Architects, YBA Architects, and Works Progress Architecture in Portland, OR. In 2016-17, Dustin and his partners at Untitled Studio collaboratively designed and fabricated the winning submission for the Assembling a Mosaic [Green Loop] competition, after which they hosted an exhibition at Design Week Portland.
Dustin recently returned to Eugene and worked as the architectural design lead at his family’s metal fabrication company, where he managed numerous art installations for Nike and EmX before joining RBA. Since he joined us in fall 2018, Dustin has been busy working on the Lane Transit District Santa Clara Station project.
Compelled by a fascination with the built environment and his love of the outdoors, Dustin would like to continue researching the intersection between the two environments and their effects on inhabitants.
In his spare time, Dustin enjoys rock climbing, mountaineering, backpacking and reading. He also volunteers with Eugene Mountain Rescue and is a local foodie who loves visiting with friends at most local breweries.
