RBA Welcomes Alicia Camden

RBA is excited to announce that Alisha Camden has joined our team!

Alisha brings creativity and discipline to her role as a designer at Rowell Brokaw. With a strong background in the arts, project management, and research, she excels at design and has excellent collaboration skills. She is currently working on The Grove at Garden Way, Eugene's Historic Central Print building, UO Barnhart, and OSU Bloss Hall.

Prior to graduating with a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon, Alicia received a Bachelor of Art History from Stanford University. Before embarking on this academic journey, she danced and choreographed in New York City, San Francisco, and abroad for seven years as a performing artist. This professional career influenced her academic one. Her love of performance and of sharing the arts led her to become a Community Arts Public Service Fellow at Stanford University; she teamed with community partner p:ear to strengthen public art programs for at-risk youth.

At the UO’s School of Architecture & Environment, Alisha became fascinated with kinetic architecture and the choreographic capacity of buildings. She studied abroad at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, BC, and collaborated with Turner Exhibits on a kinetic architecture project. She later worked with Structures Professor Stephen Duff in his professional design studio. While at the UO, Alicia also was a Laurel Award Recipient and gained hands-on museum experience; as part of the Collections Department at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA), she collaborated with Registration, Exhibition, and Preparation teams.

After receiving her M.Arch, Alisha taught introductory architecture and design studios as an adjunct at the University of Oregon’s College of Design. She later served as the Interim Assistant Registrar at the JSMA where she worked as an exhibition project manager ensuring that registration, art logistics, and program goals were achieved within strict deadlines.
