Serena Lim – Newly Licensed Architect

Congratulations to Serena for becoming a licensed architect in the state of Oregon!

Since earning her M.Arch in 2018 from the University of Oregon, Serena has been working towards licensure while gaining experience on a variety of projects at Rowell Brokaw. Towards the end of her first year on staff, Serena was brought on to design and manage the expansion and interior renovation of Richardson Sports’ headquarters, from initial concept design through construction and project closeout – this experience enabled her to complete the required hours of professional experience while taking the six divisional licensure exams known as the ARE (Architect Registration Examination). Despite exam scheduling delays and complications due to Covid, Serena was able to pass all six divisions over the course of several months in 2021. She credits UO’s architecture program, the invaluable work experience she’s gained at RBA, and mentorship from architect Austin Bailey and principal John Rowell for supporting her in this endeavor.
