Under Construction: UO Housing Phase 1
Overall, Phase 1 construction is going well. Underground utilities have been installed, most of the first floor concrete slabs have been poured, and the second floor post-tensioned slabs around the perimeter of the building are now in progress.
Fortis Construction has implemented special precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus on site. Contractors are adhering to social distancing guidelines and wearing masks. When two or more workers must work in close proximity to accomplish a task, they continue to work in the same group to avoid unnecessary contact with other workers. Additional hand washing stations have been set up on site, and high-touch surfaces are cleaned and disinfected frequently. All OAC and coordination meetings are being conducted remotely. Only critical personnel are working at the site trailer, with many office staff working from home.
