Elizabeth Brophy

Designer, Interiors, LEED Green Associate

Elizabeth pays close attention to the material composition, lighting, wayfinding, and programming of interior spaces. Having previously worked as a design assistant in a Steelcase dealership, she understands the importance of selecting the correct furniture to not only support comfort and functionality but also to inspire and respond to the overall design. Creative and curious, she enjoys the iterative process of design and the challenge of working within building code requirements. Her interests include universal design, sustainability, and the integration of public space.

Elizabeth brings a strong background in visual arts to her studies in architecture. With a M.Arch from the University of Oregon and a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, she skillfully conceptualizes space in 3D, communicates through drawing, and translates design challenges into tangible materials. While a student at the UO, she studied abroad in Copenhagen, where she completed coursework in Urban Design. When not attending Living Building Conferences or lectures on biophilia, she makes art. Her recent work includes printmaking using copper plate etching and serigraphy.
