Cottage Village Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Cottage Village Co-op (CVC), a community of 13 tiny homes for people who are unhoused or housing insecure, celebrated the completion of the final homes in Cottage Grove through a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by live music and barbeque. As a Co-op, residents self-manage the community and the maintenance of shared facilities. Developed by SquareOne Villages, CVC is the first rural tiny home co-op in the country.
Situated on a 1.2-acre lot, the tiny houses range from 192-288 sf on the ground floor with an 88-144 sf sleeping or storage loft above. Rowell Brokaw is honored to have contributed one of the three designs for the project. Each tiny home was replicated on the site. Mark Young, Lorri Nelson, and Dustin Locke enjoyed designing the two, 288-sf ADA-accessible units (#D on the map).
SquareOne Villages and the Cottage Village Coalition are still raising funds to finish the overall project with a community center to support the residents. They are also accepting applications to live at CVC. For more information, visit the SquareOne Villages website.
