2014 AIA-SWO People's Choice Awards Winners Announced

The 2014 AIA People's Choice Award winners were unveiled at the AIA-SWO October Chapter meeting. For 25 years, the American Institute of Architects, Southwestern Oregon Chapter (AIA-SWO) in collaboration with the Willamette Valley Section of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) have sponsored the People’s Choice Awards for Architecture. These awards aim to educate and inspire our fellow citizens by showcasing architecture, interiors and landscape architecture projects created within the Southwestern Oregon Chapter area by AIA or ASLA members. The program demonstrates to the public the role of the architectural profession in enhancing the built environment.

A total of 30 entries were submitted in nine categories and prominently displayed at the Lane County Home Improvement Show, which took place October 10-12 at the Lane Events Center. Rowell Brokaw won two awards: 1st Place in the Public Institutional category for the Veteran Affairs Health Clinic project in White City, OR and 2nd Place in the Unbuilt category for the 33 East Broadway Mixed-Use project.

Below is a list of the winning projects including the Colleagues Choice Award and Mayor's Choice Award winners. To view the original submission boards for the People's Choice/Colleague's Choice Awards, click here.
