Peter Utsey - Newly Licensed Architect

Congratulations to Peter for becoming a licensed architect in the state of Oregon!

Peter has a long history with Rowell Brokaw. While in graduate school attaining his M.Arch from the University of Oregon, Peter worked with RBA as a practicum student and then a paid intern. After he graduated from the UO, he spent close to 5 years working in the office of 2fORM Architecture in Eugene before coming full circle and working for Rowell Brokaw in 2015.

Over the last ten years, Peter has worked on a variety of project types, including housing, K12, higher ed, commercial, and industrial projects. Highlights include 4j North Eugene High School, Bethel School District Cascade Middle School, UO Tykeson Hall, and the ongoing UO Hamilton Walton Transformation.

Peter has been working for many years in a role usually reserved for an architect—developing designs, collaborating with clients and consultants, leading construction administration and documentation—despite being a designer. What motivated him to finally get certified? “I was tired,” Peter explains, with a smile, “of having to explain to people that I wasn’t exactly an architect even though I worked in an architecture firm.”
